Manchester Grammar School is the largest independent day school for boys in the UK. Translated from the Latin the school motto is “Dare to be Wise” and images of owls can be seen throughout the school and its grounds. Founded in the 16th Century it celebrated its 500 year anniversary in 2014.
To mark the event, a major renovation of the historic school hall took place and the Stockport based renovation specialist Nu Life floorcare was charged with the task of renovating the oak parquet floor. It was important to the school that the floor blended in well with its stained, oak panelled walls and that a really hard wearing, but naturally great looking finish was applied.
Mike Philbin the Managing Director of Nu Life, chose the PALL-X 333 colour and primer system from PALLMANN because of its forgiving and easy application, its zero solvent content and the fact that he could overcoat with the super tough, but stunning looking PALL-X Extreme lacquer within 12 hours.
The School are delighted with the result nearly a year on, and after much wear and tear, the floor still looks great.
